  • Overview

    The Warehousing and Manufacturing business unit of Zebra Technologies focuses on providing mobile computer solutions for customers with business operations in warehouses, ports, airports, and other locations where productivity improvement is the key business driver.

    The development program management group provides leadership to the teams developing new hardware, software, and solutions based products. Working with internal Engineering, Operations and Business groups, and with external partners, the Program Management organization is responsible for planning and leading the development of innovative products in line with schedule, quality, development cost, product cost, and innovation goals.


    You will be assisting multiple Program Managers in various aspects of project management & execution and/or manage a sub-project of large Program. Your responsibilities will include the activities below, in a varying mix depending on the programs:

    • Assist in creating a Project plan, schedule and tracking budget
    • Coordinate schedule and organize meeting with project teams and suppliers to track progress
    • Track project issues/risks, document minutes and actions. Identify issues proactively and escalate if not resolved timely
    • Assist with the tracking of Product cost reduction initiatives established by Project team.
    • Assist with the tracking of budget in planning tool, coordination of Purchase requests and invoice payments
    • Collection of prototype request and distribution
    • Assist in collecting data from various tools for generating project status reports
    • Assist in Project documentation
    • Assist Engineering Management Team and Program Managers to provide detailed reporting, resolution of resource loading, and budgets across all functional groups and programs.
    • Coordinate within PMO dept, document best practices and create templates on need basis.
    • Follow company procedures to maintain our ISO certification with a special emphasis on project files
    • Provide general department administration


    Specific Knowledge/Skills

    • Motivated, flexible, and resourceful. Take the initiative to drive action.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
    • Knowledge of MS Project or other schedule planning tools preferred.
    • Understanding of Product development life cycle
    • Understanding of engineering principles – the more diverse, the better (e.g. electrical, RF, mechanical, software, thermal, etc.).
    • Must be well organized with good time management skills.
    • Must work equally well independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Must be able to work on multiple tasks and/or projects at any given time.
    • Good verbal and written skills are essential.
