  • Overview

    As the build and deployment engineer on our growing team your primary role will be to setup and maintain build servers, create automation tools and work with Zebra IT to conform with Zebra security policies. In addition to building and maintaining systems, you will help shape a culture of automated delivery, streamlined processes, and consistent quality by promoting the key DevOps practices and benefits of “Flow”, “Feedback Loops” and “Experimentation and Learning”.  We are looking for someone with the courage to look for problems, the creativity to find solutions, and the motivation to bring them to life.


    • Develop workflows to provision hosts using a combination of configuration management and secrets management tools
    • Build and maintain YUM and DEB package repositiories
    • Build and maintain tools for OTA updates over YUM and DEB package repositiories
    • Understanding of docker
    • Build and maintain host monitoring applications and related tools
    • Develop and validate scaling plans for supporting infrastructure
    • Collaborate with various teams to maintain endpoint security
    • Develop test automation scripts
    • Design and build physical and software continuous integration systems 



    • Excellent knowledge of Linux
    • Experience with a configuration management tools
    • Experience with RPM and DEB Build tools
    • Good knowledge of linux application containers
    • Proficiency with Python, C++ and bash shell scripts
    • Experience with Google cloud, AWS or at least one of the other big three cloud providers
    • Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL data stores
    • Experience with secrets management
    • Experience with logging, monitoring and tracing tools
    • Working knowledge of PKI and security best practices
    • Experience working in a cross-disciplinary team environment


    • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
    • Preferred Work Experience (years): 6+ years work experience
