Zebra’s Engineering Product Innovation team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to work on cutting edge AI technologies to solve highly impactful problems in mobile computing. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) and possess strong skills in deep learning and machine learning, with particular application to the field of Computer Vision, complemented with proficiency in programming. The successful candidate will be solving highly challenging and very exciting problems in computer vision at the very cutting edge of Machine Learning.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative algorithms for challenging problems in object detection, object recognition, image similarity, semantic segmentation, and scene understanding in order to solve business problems
  • Implement and validate the algorithms in a data-driven scientific manner ensuring that the algorithms meet desired product specifications and accuracy goals
  • Work with the software team in productization of the final algorithms
  • Bring in the latest techniques in computer vision and in Machine Learning for continual improvements of technology

Qualifications

  • Masters/Ph.D. in computer vision or machine learning
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in computer vision industry
  • Mastery of deep learning literature, frameworks and tools
  • Experience with object detection and recognition techniques
  • Deep expertise in neural networks, convolutional neural networks, classifiers, feature representations, and/or related techniques.
  • Familiarity with one or more deep learning frameworks such as Caffe, Tensorflow, Torch, or CNTK
  • Scripting and development languages: Python, MATLAB, C/C++
  • Generic packages: OpenCV
  • Experience with Linux and Windows platforms
  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Able to adapt and use these patterns in innovative ways to develop custom solutions
  • Able to take initiative on issues and report results instead of waiting for task lists
  • Understanding of source control such as GIT
  • Good presentation skills, both prepared and “on demand” talks
