    We are looking for a software program manager who is very customer focused and has a passion for driving the end-to-end development of tools and solutions that exceed expectations.  A manager that can drive strategic initiatives as well as product development in realizing our company’s vision.  As a SW program manager, you are responsible for leading a cross-functional team of SW Engineers, Test Engineers, Operations, etc. from initial concept to deployment. At the same time, you are challenged to meet program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule, and development budget. You are also responsible for working with Product Management, Marketing, and Experience Designers to define the product, solidify the business case, and author the product and experience specifications. Given our multitude of design and development partners, you will participate with negotiations with Business Development, and Legal.

     

    Your track record must include experience or understanding in developing multi-disciplinary team leadership, collaborating with solution architects and system engineers in product definition/comprehension, deep knowledge of agile practices in the development and execution of program plans, program budget definition/management, management of vendor and contract management, and product deployment.

     

    You must have a strong desire, passion, and ability to understand consumer needs and a willingness to develop holistic product solutions that delight our customers and exceed their expectations. You should also have a solid comprehension of consumer electronics, the enterprise industry, and demonstrate a personal passion for its growth.

    Responsibilities

    1. Team leadership for Agile cross functional innovation teams. Contribute and promote the development of agile skillset and capabilities within the wider Zebra advanced development organization.
    2. Define strategic initiatives to align the business to Agile product development. Work closely with Portfolio Management to ensure strategic goals align and are represented in the innovation feature roadmap.  Track initiatives through the various stages of Portfolio evaluation in a manner that supports the Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) framework (e.g. program manage through vision and proof of concept phases as working examples).
    3. Technical excellence in computer vision. Leading cross functional team development in an Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) framework that promotes and embraces innovation across all initiative types (e.g. from incremental to strategic).  Work closely with execution teams (e.g. Agile Release Trains) to ensure practices established in the ALM are consistently followed.
    4. Drive minimum viable product (MVP) prototypes toward a proof of business value customer pilot.
    5. Initiate strategic partnerships with technology companies (including startups) that are developing adjacent new cutting-edge solution elements.
    6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    7. Define/execute to product feature requirements and write product specifications, including technical documentation
    8. Drive execution of solutions inclusive of requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance to our enterprise experience framework
    9. Organize, present, and document technical and program reviews/status to Senior Management.
    10. Ensure products meet worldwide regulatory compliance requirements.
    11. Execute multi-purpose programs simultaneously utilizing six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
    12. Responsible for adherence to program plan and budgets for large projects. Recommends corrective actions and implements changes. Identifies and mitigates risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans.
    13. Motivates highly collaborative project team to ensure optimal performance.
    14. Validate the developing products are reliable and of quality.
    15. Develop and protect intellectual property; be well versed with IP fundamentals.
    16. Explore and understand competitive landscape in both product and business terms. May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
    17. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • BS/MS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree with 10+ years Engineering/Program management and Scrum Master experience for products in fast paced environment.
    • Understand Cloud development and Software/Services development integration.
    • Experience in mobile application development for Android, Windows CE and/or iOS.
    • Experience with Mobile Platform Software Development.
    • Experience leading 20+ development size teams containing highly specialized expertise without a detailed understanding of solution requirements. Able to thrive in unknowns while creating solutions from skeleton use cases.
    • Full responsibility for at least five significant delivered-to-market solutions in high performance, consumer products industries.

    • Experience with team building, collaboration, and managing resources - both domestically and international, inside and outside of Zebra.
    • Firm comprehension of consumer electronics technologies and landscape
    • Experience with software development best practices including Agile, TDD and Continuous Integration, and comfortable adapting these practices to support innovation
